"As you come to him, the living Stone- rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him- you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." - 1 Peter 2:4-5 - THE THOUGHT In Psalm 118, David describes a future redeemer who would be ?the stone the builders rejected?. Jesus was rejected, despised, humiliated, and murdered. But David goes on to say that this ?stone the builders rejected has become the capstone?; the foundation and base of all things. Jesus was not finished with his death- he triumphed over death and over sin in his glorious resurrection. But he was not finished there, either. Today, he works in our hearts through his Spirit, sanctifying us and making us better followers, day by day.
